Sharli's Story
I graduated from Ketchikan High School in the spring of 2001. Excited to "carpe diem," I moved to Spokane, WA two days after my 18th birthday. With free reign on personal decisions, I managed to put on 20 pounds in 4 months. It was at that point I knew something would have to change permanently. I began working out more regularly at the gym, but I just couldn't seem to lose ANY of the weight I'd put on. I signed up to take Group Fitness for credit. After regular attendance, within a couple months I'd lost about 12 pounds. Fueled by the changes occurring not only in my body, but in my mind, it was easy to attend workout classes. However, I would get frustrated by seemingly ineffective classes. Talking with many of my peers about their class experiences made me realize that MOST PEOPLE WANT A REALLY EFFECTIVE WORKOUT. I thought, "you could help people get that." In the winter quarter of 2003, I completed a class on how to teach group fitness with a 4.0. I began student teaching in March of 2003 & have taught classes ever since. I love the satisfaction I receive from you, and other participants, who are satisfied with their results. If you're willing to put in the time, my staff & I are willing to bring our expertise to make your fitness regiment as safe, effective, & fun as possible.
